Important Things to Know Before Using eSIM

eSIM is very convenient, but there are a few important things to check before activating it.

1. Make Sure Your Phone Supports eSIM

Not every phone supports eSIM. Before switching, check if your device is eSIM-compatible.

Most newer iPhones, Samsung Galaxy phones, and Google Pixel devices support eSIM.

2. Your Phone Must Be Unlocked

If your phone is locked to another carrier, eSIM activation may not work. Make sure your phone is unlocked before switching to a new carrier.

3. Use a Stable Wi-Fi Connection

You need Wi-Fi to download and install your eSIM profile. If your Wi-Fi connection is weak, activation may fail.

4. Do Not Delete Your eSIM Too Early

Do not delete your eSIM profile unless your carrier tells you to. If you delete it, you may need to contact customer service to reactivate it.

5. Keep Your Transfer PIN Ready

If you are transferring your phone number, prepare your account number and transfer PIN from your current carrier.

6. Check International Roaming

Before traveling outside the USA, check if your eSIM plan includes international roaming.

7. Restart Your Phone After Activation

After installing your eSIM, restart your phone and test calls, texts, data, and hotspot.
